A man accused of committing a murder-for-hire in Danville has been ordered back to Vermont by federal authorities

A man accused of committing a murder-for-hire in Danville has been ordered back to Vermont by federal authorities. Colorado resident Jerry Banks was arrested at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming last week for the alleged kidnapping and roadside killing of Hawkins Road resident Greg Davis, 49, in 2018. On Tuesday, Wyoming Chief Magistrate Judge Kelly H. Rankin ordered Banks transferred to Vermont in the custody of U.S. Marshals to face a federal kidnapping charge. Once Banks arrives in Vermont he will be detained until his initial appearance before Vermont District Court Chief Judge Geoffrey W. Crawford. Investigators say Banks lured Davis out of his house on Jan. 6, 2018, by posing as a U.S. Marshal. Davis was found the next day hand-cuffed and dead from multiple gunshot wounds near 1648 Peacham Road in Barnet.
