Beginning June 1, The Rocks Estate’s grounds, trails, and parking lots closed to general public use, except for special events, while heavy equipment again rolls into position. In June, work will be done on the renovation of the iconic stone-and-shingle Carriage Barn at the center of the property that will become the estate’s new operations center called Forest Society North. In July, landscaping will continue to create a new hillside amphitheater overlooking the easterly White Mountain view. Closure of the property is temporary — although the renovation of the building will continue over the next year, the construction zone will be contained so that the parking areas and public use should reopen to the general public in August.
