No masks will be required at the St. Johnsbury School this year and all COVID-19 medical decisions will be made by local school nurses. That’s according to guidance from the state provided to schools earlier this month. “COVID-19, like the flu, is now a part of our lives,” said Education Secretary Daniel French and Health Commissioner Mark Levine in their memorandum on COVID-19 school sickness and testing. St. Johnsbury School Superintendent Karen E. Conroy said the state guidance is all about treating COVID as just another respiratory problem. Students and staff will also not be required to wear masks at school.
