ST. JOHNSBURY — Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) announced that its inaugural Sugar Maple Gala raised more than $157,000 to establish the Sugar Maple Endowment Fund, creating a permanent source of philanthropic support designed to strengthen healthcare in the Northeast Kingdom for generations to come.

Held Aug. 14 at the Tempson Barn in East Burke, the Gala brought together community members, donors, sponsors, and healthcare leaders.

Unlike a traditional fundraising campaign established for a specific project or immediate need, the Sugar Maple Endowment Fund is designed to provide lasting financial strength and flexibility.

Gifts to the fund are invested for the long-term, with a portion of investment earnings available to support NVRH each year while the principal remains invested to grow over time.
